a weekend update for no particular reason

well, i’m kind of bored right now. i was occupying myself with the news and some chatting in some silly irc, but the novelty faded quickly.

i found a great place to live/stay today. i really hope i come out on top since the girl has some other people to meet first. she’s got a little boy that turns 4 this week, and the whole down stairs would be mine. i’d have my own bathroom, and my room is very, very sunny. there’s a queen bed in it, which takes up the majority of the room. i think i’ll replace it with my futon. the condo is pretty small, but the yard is huge! it also has a heated garage that is connect to the house, so that may prove absolutely irrelevant for any number of reasons. there are two other dogs there, so kita would never be lonely again.

my husband keeps asking me about how much money i have. i’ve been balancing my checkbook so that when my “balance” gets to $0, i still have $500. i haven’t told him about that. i wonder if that’s considered lying. i feel especially sensitive to that since he so often accused me of being a liar. wouldn’t want to prove him right. anyway, that’s a completely random thing to share. i’m not leaving him high and dry without a penny, mind you. i left over $2k in the checking account for him to live on until he gets a job. also, i had considered having my engagement ring turned into a really nice piece of jewelry for sam. i just wonder if that’s tacky.

on the weight loss front, i did well– 3 lbs. lost this week. i intend to make that trend continue.

i read some article about how much plastic grocery bags are hurting the environment. something like 600 billion plastic bags end up in the ocean or whatever. i’m not certain on the number, but it was insanely high. so, feeling guilty for all the plastic i throw in the trash, i brought a little cloth bag with me to the store today. i had the cashier put all of my groceries in it (except for the chicken because i just have this thing about raw meat). not only did i save the environment by about 4 grocery bags (lol), i purchased less stuff because i was worried it wouldn’t fit inside my bag.

as i was sitting here, writing this to no one in particular, the party-goers outside got into a fight. a man picked up a piece of broken asphalt and hit my truck with it. >.< my displeasure is immense. there’s only a small scratch on my truck, so it’s okay. i just can’t move out of this stupid place fast enough! what is hopefully my new home is in a very nice part of town in the middle of anchorage. everyone there has brand new cars, and all the lawns are perfectly trimmed. i suppose i could learn to like suburbia.

i’m off to find something else to occupy my time. perhaps i’ll finish my book, the rise of the horde. it’s really nice, and it makes me which i had played an orc. thanks to gull for recommending it <3

Good luck with the new abode - sounds nice, so I hope you get the nod on it. I wouldn’t lose any sleep over the offset to your bank balance you’ve factored in on your claimed zero - all things considered you’ve been more than fair on the financial front. Grats on the weight loss - going be be all sleek, svelte & slinky in no time at that rate, not that you weren’t always pretty hot stuff in my opinion, kiddo. Pity about the collateral damage to your truck (speaking of which - details, girl - make/model/year or post a link to a pic). Relocation to a more salubrious spot would definitely be a Good Thing. If you’re down in Anchorage that ought to save you a bit of traveling time with work too, won’t it? Good luck with it all - and keep up with the updates. How did the calc2 exam go?

Plastic bags are sooo much easier to bag for the cashiers though :P. However, the cloth bags with the little piece of hard plastic in the bottom that creates a base and keeps it open are great. I don’t recall recommending that book to you, but if you’re starting to read fantasy that’s great! :P. Then you can just get my actual recommended reading =D

I got a new job.
